PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT
This activity involves the study of a control system on 100% of the production of the Espresso Point item to intercept any macro defects (pieces with burrs or incomplete pieces).
The project was started following a continuous request from our customer to improve the quality of the product. Since these lines have a high production capacity with only statistical control it was not possible to guarantee the total quality required.
We therefore thought of creating a mechanical system for the interception of defects.
CONTENTS OF R&D ACTIVITIES
In the project analysis it was thought to build circular centrifugal hoppers which, by means of a slit on the external wall and a forced linear exit passage, the defective pieces are intercepted.
The incomplete pieces are ejected from the slot in the external wall, while the pieces with burrs are blocked at the entrance to the linear passage allowing the operator to intervene.
